Walking, walking, walking....

I know that this blog feels like it is dedicated to Aidan the wonder child...really, it is almost pathetic how a mother brags about her children isn't it? Anyway, just for journaling purposes, Aidan started taking his first steps the week of Thanksgiving...the Monday before or so. (November 24) He now is really starting to prefer it. If he falls, which he does a LOT, he crawls to the nearest furniture or wall and pulls up and away he goes. He is actually becoming a little more even tempered (hee hee) and that is nice. He is however, upset in this video because he wants the camera. He turned 11 months yesterday. Crazy.

More of our Christmas season...

Well, the countdown is definitely on for Christmas. We got our two school programs out of the way. It was a great program and even though it was the same both nights, it was enjoyable.

Our little Brinlee decided that she wasn't going to sing. She just wanted to wear the little lamb's ears and look cute I guess. She did her little dance that she was assigned and that was good, but if Cambree hadn't been sitting by us (in the stands mind you) singing all of the songs we wouldn't have had a child performing on that first night.

So, we wised up the second night and I went to the program with Cambree and my cousin Jordan. Mike stayed home with Brin and Aidan and it was a much more enjoyable program for us all. Cambree sang and participated in all the songs and thought it was grand. This was the night she was SUPPOSED to sing. All in all it was a success!

They had a pretty nativity scene set up and during the program Mary and Joseph and their baby Jesus came and knelt at the manger. It was really neat. So, the girls needed a picture in front of this scene.

A little Aidan update. The day after I posted his head trama, he hit his head again on the same door frame and had another great bruise to add on the forehead. For some reason after that, he ended up with about 3 more bruises. They were travelling around I guess. Anyway, they look a lot better this week, but unfortunately for me, he still thinks that he wants to walk. He is getting better and better...
He also started making car noises when he pushes cars around on the floor and it is SO cute!!! (If I do say so myself.) I tried to video it, but he just wanted the camera and didn't want to perform. Go figure.

The funniest things.

Kids really do say the funniest things! Tonight I was getting the bathtub ready for the girls and I said "The first one in here, gets a special surprise." Brinlee came running in and was so excited to be the first. Cambree came in bawling. So, I asked Brin what she thought her special surprise was going to be and she looked at me and said "Probably a fart." I laughed and laughed because that was definitely NOT the surprise I was going to give her, so I asked her why she would think that. She said it was the kind of surprise her dad gives her. We will have to have a real heart to heart Mike and I!

This is the season beloved of the year...

The Christmas season is upon us and we are so excited!! The girls are going to participate in a Christmas program at school. However, the school has gotten so big that they have to divide it up and have it on two different nights. So, we will be enjoying the same program both nights with different children. Aren't we the luckiest??? Actually, we are pretty fortunate because it is a great way to start the holiday season.

Poor little Aidan thinks that Christmas is a punishment. He just wants to touch the lovely red glass ornaments, but every time he gets close to the tree he is told NO. He will be so thrilled to see this season over and done with.

Aidan has started taking steps and is the cutest thing around! However, he is still VERY unsteady and is crashing into things more and more. Not fun...This is from last night's accident. It was from one of our door frames...I am amazed at what babies can live through.

Our Thanksgiving craft

Every Tuesday afternoon the kids and I head up to Michelle's house for dance class. While the girls take turns in class, I babysit Michelle's kids. I usually babysit from 3 to a little after 6. So, I have tried to come up with activities and treats to keep all 7 kids busy. (Luckily the baby boys usually sleep for some of this time.) Anyway, this is the activity that we did today. They are turkeys made out of apples, marshmallows, raisins and carrots...all put together with toothpicks. It kept them busy for about 2 hours which was great and they turned out pretty funny. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I've been bitten...

Okay, I've been bitten by the Christmas bug...I am so excited about it and can't hardly wait for the season to start! The snow can wait, but Christmas can sure come! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that your holiday season is great!

A little catching up...

Here is a catch up post. This happens to be Aidan's new favorite trick. Well, this and EMPTYING every cupboard we own. Two days ago, he opened up a cupboard in the kitchen with a lazy susan and pulled out a glass bottle of olive oil which broke on the tile, which was a huge puddle of oil with broken glass, which Aidan played in and cut his hands and then proceeded to crawl around the kitchen. There were slick bloody oil spots everywhere. This all happened in the time it took for me to pick clothes out for Brinlee. Less than one minute. Good times. He is okay by the way. It didn't slow him down AT ALL...

This is the new head wear we are sporting at our home after baths. Cambree and Brinlee love this new do and will wear it for quite sometime before the towels finally become unraveled and fall off. More good times.

This a picture of the little pilgrim and indian that live in our home now. They are a wild bunch and yet they bring peace to our home. Strange isn't it?
I got to go and have a Thanksgiving Feast with Brinlee at school yesterday. I was able to go and do that with Cambree last year and it was so fun. But, I really must say that I think our little school district has some amazing school cooks. Everything they make is ALWAYS delicious. It was a fun feast and a good time to spend with my little Brin.
P.S.

I was informed that I forgot to post Aidan's costume from Halloween. Not that I meant to, I just had posted the girls earlier and Aidan only dressed up for Halloween and nothing else. Be that as it may, he looked absolutely adorable and could not have cared less about it.

I couldn't resist...

Thanks to our friends Jason and Bonnie and their amazing camera, we were able to go and get some last minute family pictures...These will most likely be on the good ol' Christmas card...Surprise! Anyway, I couldn't resist posting them. They turned out pretty good considering the subjects! This is just one of like 140 or something and that is after Jason deleted them out of 700 or so!
Now, just a little side note. Aidan turned 10 months yesterday and we are quickly nearing the 1st year mark. It is bittersweet. He is such a fun little fella. Definitely more high maintenance than the girls but who cares?? He is perfect just the way he is!

One day...

One day I am going to be old and when it happens, I am going to be a Snowbird...I will chase the sun wherever I have to in order to be warm and away from the good ol' white stuff.
Here is Brinlee who couldn't contain herself. She has been out about 3 times this morning. We are now just waiting for the school bus to take her to school where she can be excited about snow with other small children who seem to love the stuff.
Cambree used to pray every night for it to snow and it would happen every time. It got really old in April and the flakes were still falling. I am just wondering if these are really my children...

Oh me oh my...the joys of a boy!

The scenes....

The crimes...

The culprit....

Okay, so maybe it is just the joys of a baby, but still. This little addition has sure been a "whirlwind" of pleasure lately. Yesterday I got out of the shower and wouldn't you know it--another cupboard vandalized....It is only the beginning....

Jack-O-Lanterns...

We carved pumpkins last night and it was a success. The kids loved digging out the guts and coming up with faces. Mike and Cambree worked on one and Brin and I worked on the other. Brinlee decided that we needed 4 faces on ours...Scared, Happy, Mad and Sad. Cam was a little jealous, but Mike told her that on Halloween, their candle would stay lit while ours would blow right out with nothing to protect it. Whatever....

Yes, that is Brin and Cam taking a bite of the pumpkin guts...Mike thought it would be hilarious.

The start of a fun Halloween season...

These are the costumes that my children will now be wearing almost every day until Friday. We went to our school carnival on Friday night and these are the pictures. It was a lot of fun and my kids loved dressing up. These costumes are one of a kind because Mike and I thought it would be hysterical. The girls are such good sports. It was fun making them and I love the finished product. Halloween can be fun I suppose...

Just a journal entry...

Everyone who knows us, knows what fun we have with our little blonde girl Brinlee. She listens to everything we say and she is very mellow. But, everyone who really knows us, can tell that this is said with some heavy sarcasm. Don't get me wrong, WE LOVE BRIN!! She is such a joy in our home and we need her to be a part of our family. However, I am just writing this little entry so I won't forget something she said on Tuesday night. It made me laugh and laugh because it is so typical of her...and I quote "Whatever I did, I didn't do it." That pretty much sums up everything that happens in our little Brinlee's life.

Whirlwind weeked

My parents came up this weekend and it was great! We love when they come. It is so much fun for my kids and we love THEM!! It is also a nice thing because my mom gives us all haircuts. This is Aidan's 1st cut and my mom said it was like cutting a moving target! Thanks for coming Gramma and Crappa. WE LOVE YOU!

These photos of Aidan are the new trick to play at the sliding door. My girls like to stand on the outside of the door and really get him going. The glass is super sparkling clean. But, it is so cute and I wouldn't trade the smudges for ANYTHING!!!!

What's in your folder?

So, here I am answering a tag that I got awhile back. Go to your 4th file and open and post your 4th picture. Ironically it was taken in April which is the 4th month of the year. And, are we shocked that it is of Aidan? He would have been almost 3 months old in this pic. I tag everyone who reads my blog!!

Happy Birthday to dear Auntie Em...

I have the best sister a girl could ever ask for! She is super fun and is SO great with my kids. She has always been a pesky little sister, but ever since I moved out, she has been actually kinda cool. My kids absolutely adore her and honestly so do I! She is amazing and WE LOVE EMILY! Happy Birthday little sista!!
